The planning of complex technical processes is usually carried out in an interdisciplinary team with different and specialized software tools. With EPLAN Preplanning Professional you can carry out the first planning activities for process automation or automation technology in the engineering process at an early stage in the EPLAN platform. On the basis of this data, the machine / system can later be detailed up to the creation of a circuit diagram in the EPLAN platform. The integration of the pre-planning into the project planning ensures a significantly reduced effort due to the consistency with simultaneously increased project quality and a very simple introduction to the planning methodology based on the EPLAN platform.

- Defining and describing machine / system areas for division into meaningful structures and units- Representation of a process engineering design - Representation of a system overview with associated instrumentation - Creation of the first graphical overviews or P&I diagrams as a general planning basics- Defining "rough placeholders" for functions or Components that cannot yet be defined in detail at this point in time- Define and estimate the first quantity structures (drives, sensors, PLC inputs / outputs, etc.)- Create first graphical overviews (P& I flow chart) as a general planning basics- Creation of parts lists for price and effort calculation - Support of calculation and recording of long-term runners- Creation of preplanning macros - Using drag & drop, create the detailed planning (the circuit diagram) from the preliminary planning

As a professional tool, EPLAN Harness proD 3D combines the data of the mechanical and electrical design in one system and thus enables the efficient development of a cable harness in 3D.EPLAN Harness proD 3D fits perfectly into the previous work processes. Automated steps from importing the wiring lists to routing the wires and creating the documentation including 2D nail board drawings / 2D cable drawings are the strengths of the system. Conclusion: Development times are shortened, productivity increases and project quality is sustainably improved.

Spatial multi-criteria analyses, such as the ones conducted by Venter et al. [23] and Langemeyer et al. [24], can provide valuable socio-cultural information for urban green infrastructure planning; however, they lack the more quantitative and iterative feedback that spatial modelling and simulation tools can provide planners and designers. Ecosystem service assessment tools use a variety of datasets (GIS, field surveys, interviews, remote sensing, public surveys, etc.) to classify and quantify the value of different ecosystem services [25]. While some produce outputs that include monetary values or social benefits, those that produce quantifiable biophysical outputs are particularly useful when designing built environments [26]. By modelling and simulating the complex interactions between ecosystems and cities, built environment professionals can better map and quantify the impacts of their projects on various ecosystem services, including habitat provision and flood mitigation, as well as identify specific spatial areas of priority for design interventions across whole cities or watersheds.
